Heritage Open Days - 11th & 12th Sept
The Weld family is opening the doors to both Lulworth Castle and their private family home, Lulworth Castle House, FREE of charge on Thursday 11th September and Friday 12th September.
Everyone is welcome to come along and meander through these wonderful buildings with lots of opportunity to learn more about their past. Mr & Mrs Weld are opening the properties to the public as part of Heritage Open Days, England's largest voluntary cultural event which is coordinated nationally by the Civic Trust and supported by English Heritage.
Inside their home, Lulworth Castle House, you will be able to discover a stunning collection of pictures, sculpture and furniture, including the Ince Blundell Collection and furniture saved from the devastating fire that destroyed the former family home, Lulworth Castle in 1929.
Lulworth Castle has been consolidated and restored since that devastating fire and is now a vibrant visitor attraction with a packed programme of events throughout the year.
Both properties are among some 3,500 buildings and places across England taking part in the annual Heritage Open Days event in September. More than a million people from across the country take part in Heritage Open Days, promising fascinating insights and fresh inspirations to everyone, whatever their age or background, interest or taste.
Opening times:
Lulworth Castle House will be open 11am - 4pm, Thurs 11th and Fri 12th September
